New Comic Weds (A little late)

So this week’s pick up was a little less then what I usually get. I’m trying to cut down the variable costing unfortunately due to unfortunate circumstances. Oh well, that’s fine by me. I’m also trying to save up to head to San Diego for Comic Con this year so! It’s not all too bad, I can always pick up the trades there, but we all know its not really THE same as picking up your pull list every week. I’m over it… I think.

So I haven’t really done these every week and I keep telling myself I will, with exams coming up I doubt I will be able to any time soon again. But I will try to set it as a goal for this summer to at least do a post a day for a review for either something new or something that I own!

Let’s get on with it!

This week’s pull list:

Batman issue #19

Age of Ultron #5

Uncanny X-Men #4

Batman and [Red] Robin #19

Injustice Issue 2/b/ Good god.
I loved it. I was skeptical at first. Seriously. Another DC fighting game? Didn’t we have that with Mortal Kombat Vs DCU? It was a nice gimmick and a good time for a little bit. But it instantly felt lack luster and weak. This comic tie in with the game is well done and immediately sets the stage for the game. It really is a world where Superman isn’t afraid to to do what is necessary to stop the violence in the world. Without revealing too much, the plot revolves around the traditional tragedies found in the comic book world and stereo typically found within DCU.

Another skeptic attitude I had towards the game, (not that it was needed) was how far was the comic and the game willing to go to set the stage. Netherrealm games has a reputation of developing video games for the mature audience, (Mortal Kombat) and having thrilling “Finishers” to kill off characters in a final fighting sequence. Let me be one of the first to tell you. DC Comics and Warner Brothers really let them have their creativity on this on… I just hope this will translate well over to the game. Even not having a finisher would be okay with me. Just having the inclusion of something SO GRAPHIC. *Spoilers Omitted* is exciting.
Fantastic Read.
Traditional Tragedy done in a different way
Setting the stage for Injustice
8.5/10

I really hope to do more of these comic book reviews as time goes on! Hopefully it’s enjoyed and let me know what you think!

dccomicconfessions:

“Even though Batman Beyond was a good show. I couldn’t like it as much as B:TAS because it made me face the fact that everyone grows old even Batman. The main reason I read comics is so I can escape that reality. It just broke my heart as a kid to see Bruce Wayne old.”

The Dark Knight Rises

This is a little delayed.

But dear God, holy shit.

I recommend anyone and everyone to see it in IMAX. Be it for the quality or the experience but there is an actual reason.

WB had openly stated that they would no change the voice of Bane and he was very unclear and hard to understand.

This was changed in the IMAX showing where he was clearer and more understandable. In the regular showing is still changed but can still be hard to hear at times.

Other than that.

Go watch it.
